Our seed library is where the Wellington community can get seeds for free, helping folks get into gardening and growing their own food. With help from a grant from the South Central Kansas Library System, the Library has collected seeds from various companies and organizations. We also accept donations of seeds from our patrons. If you have extra seeds from a seed packet that you don’t need we are happy to take donations.
Similar to a normal library, gardeners “borrow” up to five packets of seeds at planting time. At the end of the growing seasons, gardeners are encouraged to glean seeds from their plants and return them to the library for next year’s growing season.
