Welcome to the Wellington Public Library! We love our littlest patrons and want to do our best to build a life-long love of books, reading and, of course, the library!

We have an amazing children’s play area in our library and wonderful collections of board books and picture books … the perfect place to go on those cold or rainy days, or any day really! Come check us out!

Chelsea McNeil, Youth Services Director:  I’m Ms. Chelsea, Youth Services Director in charge of programming for birth-5th grade. I spent 10 years teaching high school Spanish before taking a break to start my own family. Now my three-year-old and I love being involved at the library! I try to bring as much fun and education as I can to all of my programs.

Every Wednesday at 10:00 am (usually lasts 45 minutes)

We have a weekly storytime for kids 5 and under that features a fun new theme each month with great stories, music & movement, and crafts! We invite mom, dad, grandma, grandpa or whomever to bring the kids down and join us for some fun. We encourage adults to get involved in our activities — when you have fun, the kids have fun!

We are a proud participator in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Sign up today and start logging your child’s reading progress!

Every August we will have a recognition party for all of our participants where we will acknowledge each level. Those who have reached the 1000 book goal will receive a book bag filled with books, school supplies, and more!

We also have special activities that happen periodically including PBS television viewings, holiday celebrations, and more Check out some of our past events and keep an eye on this website, or follow us on Facebook to keep up on all the latest fun.
